One of the truths that I love to share is that we are strong yet fragile. The good news is that when we are connected to our body, have flexibility and core, then recovery is better. The bad news is that it still hurts, and I knew I had to just stop completely and rest and reach out to everyone I knew about how to get back on my feet in a healthy yet moving forward direction. I want to share with you the post that I put on a mommy group that I am part of, so many wonderful responses and truths about life and healing.

I am blessed to have a wonderful friend who is a masseuse who referred me to a former nurse that runs a preventive medicine center with chiropractic and acupuncture.  Amazingly what has helped the most so far was the epsom salt bath, wow, after all day in bed on Sunday, and literally having to be on hands and knees to get from point A to point B; I was able to stand erect with less pain.

Thank you so much to everyone with your good wishes, prayers, and advice,

Thank God feeling functional and feeling good that I am doing something about it.

oh great mommies please tell me your tricks, remedies, and unique approach to get back on your feet! As some of you know I’m a Yoga and Pilates teacher, Thank God strong, good genes, just turned 45, feel 25 🙂
Yesterday I wore wedge shoes, ran after kids, on my feet all day, and I think my body just said no way
This morning, while not doing much, as I was turning my back spasmed and I literally had to go to my knees and I have not really moved since. I have no history of back problems, just sometime soreness or pulled muscle.
I put ice, got my back warm, put arnica and took Advil. Any other advice? I have seven classes to teach tomorrow. Luckily I mostly instruct and have regulars who could lead.

Hot bath with epsom salt to relax the muscles, take it easy, and if your body says no tomorrow, listen to it. Also you can get a “bed buddy” at CVS or drug store type place that you can warm up and keep the heat on the back.

Keep icing and taking anti inflammatory meds. That’s all you can do for now. I’ve had these a lot unfortunately

Advil for back pain
chiropractor! I think Dr Spearman in Hollywood is open on Sundays. He’s great!
See a chiropractor first thing in the morning
Hot bath..
Refuah shlema!!
Please no ice!! And see an acupuncturist as soon as possible the sooner you go the faster you will heal (acupuncturist here)

Im curious why you say no ice? Both my chiro and my ortho doctor have always told me to ice repeatedly

Yulia Medovoy Edelshtain I actually just talked to my friend who is also an acupuncturist and she says the recommendation has changed to no ice especially for back spasms, but for inflamation western medicine thinks ice is good, maybe on top of clothes not right on skin

Acupuncture. Shirley Perluss has helped my son with a back injury. Unbelievable improvement, amazingly fast

I️ see a physical therapist and they swear no ice at first.
We want to increase blood flow not stop it which is what ice does. It also causes long term issues. Chinese have believed this for a long time and everyone else is finally catching on 🙏

If you can, try to do very gentle yoga poses (cat/cow especially). I second the vote for an acupunturist – even better if it’s an orthopedic acupunturist. Don Lee is great.
Dr Margaret Perez…chiropractor in Tarzana. She fixed my back in one visit. My whole back was in complete spasms.
im so sorry to hear, rest is ur best bet. that happened to me right before a trip to israel. also dr william nojima really helped to heal me.
Also going forward, def switch up your shoes during the day (I do heels for 3-4 hours then switch to flats with a rubber sole or sneakers). Lifesaving!

Lots of magesium orally and in a warm bath; followed by deep tissue massage. Get well soon my love ❤️
Been there and it’s the worst. U just have to keep your core strong and make sure to bend your knees when lifting the kids and never wear completely flat shoes if you have flat feet. Having a bit of an arch makes a huge difference for me

Ouch, oh no! Refuah shlemah!

Feel better!!! Refua Shlema!!!!
My best advice is alternating heat and ice. Finding someone that can massage the area and see a chiropractor stat!
Physical therapy really helps!
Feel  better

Refua shelayma Yulia. Let me know if you need assistance with teaching. Sometimes the body just wants to rest even if you’re strong and healthy B’H. Just the balance of rest. All the cold, warm, arnica etc sound great. DoTERRA offers Deep Blue essential oils. And also Copaiba E oil. Great for muscle & joint inflammation. Take care 🙏🏼❣️

I get severe muscle spasms with my fibromyalgia to the point where my muscles actually pull. Massages make them worse and more tender. The things that do work are hot Epsom salt baths, acupuncture, and a heating pad. No sugar and green juice all day to speed recovery.

Oh no! Contact Alexandra Gautier Foglia asap! She can help you!
Bromelain is great for bones/joints/inflammation
CBD oil
Take a few rest days
After 40 your body hates high heels 👠

Cupping did wonders for me!

Listen to your body. If you need to rest, the rest. It’s better to miss one day of teaching and feel better. Than work through it and be feeling mediocre for a long time. Wishing u a speedy recovery.
If u have a foam roll do the roll to help with the pressure
PT might help in the long run. We take most PPO insurance policies, too. www.bebept.com
