Modern World/Ancient Observance

Afshine Emrani
The Talmud: Pirkei Avot. 4:1
“Who is wise? The one who learns from every person…
Who is brave? The one who subdues his negative inclination…
Who is rich? The one who is appreciates what he has…
Who is honored? The one who gives honor to others…”

We all have our stuff. This is something to keep reminding myself, my family, and even friends as we talk about life. Change is an essential part oflife, we need the downs to understand and appreciate the ups. This week my kids are in school, we are still celebrating our Sukkot holiday as much as we can, understanding their roots is more important than anything to me.

I also love the modern world, tomorrow is my birthday and I am going to introduce them to some pop culture by taking them to Depeche Mode next week.

Life is nuts,

Life is fun,

Life is not boring,

Chag Sameach,

Coach Yulia

Haize Hawke
I am not what I do.
I am not what I have.
I compete with no one.
I strive to be better than I was yesterday
I am not what other people think of me.
I am by my own design
I let myself be lived by source.
I am that I am.
