I literraly cannot get enough, the positive side of it all, listening to all of my diverse friends talking about moving forward together.
T’Quan Wilson feeling hopeful.
✋ IF YOU BLINK IT DOESN’T change anything. Trump won. Congratulations to him and his family. So, I am a Black American Gay Man and I stand by my country’s decision. Why because I don’t believe the president is the answer! I don’t believe police officers are killing my brothers and sisters because of the president. I don’t think gay marriage rights are in jeopardy because of the president. It’s the people. I can’t allow this decision to change my heart. Trump is who he is and by feeding into the propaganda of it all, none of us will win. My beautiful White people here is your chance to prove that you are better than the racism that is depicted by the news. My beautiful people of color (anyone not white) it is time for us to stop on all levels accepting the shorter end of the stick. We are the blood that pumps billions into this country. Don’t be sad! Fight with love! Don’t be frustrated be patient! The president is a spokesperson for the country. He can’t just make things happen. But we as a people can. The only thing that worries me is the fact that the news has proven its our true God. Wake up! Just be better to each other. It starts with you! I’m a supporter of the country my ancestors bleed for. I believe no matter who’s in charge we will conquer the mighty.
All kidding aside – if you are my friend and your candidate lost – I have empathy for you. I felt how you are feeling now back in 2008 & 12. I let go of party affiliation and started voting issues. I don’t care where you are from (national origin), how you worship (religion), or who you sleep with (sexual preference) – I just want the Government off of my back, and I want them to stop stealing over half of every dollar I earn, only to waste it. That’s the waive that got Trump elected – the post -election hysteria is ridiculous, and driven by the same failed media, failed Hollywood, and failed politico types who told you how to vote to begin with. While you may not be on my side this time around, you might next time, or me on yours. What ended Hillary was her pandering to nonsensical and unrealistic issues, like the 75 year old communist she ran against in the primaries who promised all of the freebies that side of the aisle offers to buy votes. There is no free ride. I couldn’t get into college when I graduated high school – didn’t even want to – I enlisted in the Marine Corps. In exchange for that investment of 4 yrs of my life during which my country tried to kill me over and over again by sending me to the middle east and Africa, (and making me run up hills with Jack D Hisey, Mike Lynch, Craig Carroll, Brian Rink, Nean Jamison and so many other fantastic Americans) – I got $400/mo for 48 months towards college – and so did everybody I served with. We all made it, and continue to. Quit crying about not wanting to get out of bed and face the reality of President Trump. Hard work has value – quit expecting your government to solve your poor life choices and take charge of your own destiny. If you think American has problems, do your part to make it Great! May God Bless you all.
I’m finding it very disturbing that people are asking what they should tell their children today. (Or even worse, they’re telling them that a bad man won. ) I think you parents should be teaching their children respect. Above all. You respect the president elect no matter who that is. I would still feel the same way if the outcome was the other way. Sometimes we don’t know why things happen… We need to teach our children by practicing what we preach.. faith and respect.
I’ve had friends during this election decide not to be my friend anymore because I am more on the conservative side. It’s why I want the Libertarian party. It’s conservative but not ultra right-wing and not Christian driven. There are reasons that certain systems are in place and I just don’t think people fully understand the background and the why for so many aspects of what makes this country work. If it wasn’t for the electoral college people that live in rural areas would not have a say or a presence in the political scene. People that live in the cities would be the ones in control of the entire country because that is where most of the people live. If we allowed the popular vote to stand then people in urban areas would have their agendas and they would vote and they would get everything the way they want it. People that live in rural areas like farmers would get the shaft because there are less of them. Just because more people want things a certain way doesn’t mean that it should be that way. The only way to help minority areas is to give them a voice by giving them more electoral votes.
