Yesterday I wrote about whining, and when will it ever stop, and today I am coming across beautiful articles on how important it is to give our children our undivided attention. Yes there has to be a time when we put down our devices and really play with our children, listen to them, look into their eyes, and see the magic that comes out of their brains. What I love about the video above, is that the emphasis is on taking care of ourselves mamas, if we don’t do it who else is going to do it?
Of course it all depends on the age of the child, and the situation at home, sometimes one parent is always working, there are so many factors. I am so blessed to have a supportive husband that knows how important it is for me to put myself first, and he lets me. I have one more week with the kids, their total winter break is three weeks, and I am really at my breaking point. Yes it is good problems, and I am so grateful, and Thank God they drive me crazy because they are healthy, strong, full of energy, independent, and know exactly what they want and how to ask for it. One more week and they are with their wonderful teachers from 8am to 5pm, then I can do the work I love, exercise, take a nap, maybe even squeeze in a massage, which I firmly believe is not a luxury but a necessity, maybe once a month.
Our kids need us operating at 100% because they definitely use every ounce of that 100%, and with three kids, and I know many of you have more, I am so drained, but drained from good stuff. I would not change a thing.
