Yesterday there were so many beautiful celebrations all around the world, it was the first night of Chanukah. I went to a fun one at Universal Studios with a very popular Israeli singer Gad Elbaz, full of people, security, Jews, Christians, Muslims, and everyone just got along. We live in a world, especially in a country that celebrates differences, I am so grateful my parents brought me here 35 years ago.
So I will just carry on with my celebrations. Chanukah is on until next Sunday night, and it is not so easy to get to everything with little kids, especially since I really just want them in bed, and they have school the next day. There is a huge event on Thursday night we will definitely go to, and I have a few parties on Sunday. At home we each have a menorah and are enjoying lighting our own candles, everyone is giving my kids presents, including their Safta, grandmother in Hebrew, my mother in law, and my neighbor who they love.
I just came across this recipe for sweet potato and kale latkes, YUM!
