I Choose To Be Happy

My goal in life is to be happy and have fun.  Yes that is the bottom line of everything that I do, and what I try to teach my kids.  You can choose to be happy, no matter what the circumstances, no matter what the situation, no matter what happens, we can choose how we react.  I am in the whining years of toddlerhood, it is such a challenge for me, I just do not get it, why not just ask for what you want, why choose to whine?Tonight starts the last days of Sukkot, it is spiritually a very intense time, tonight begins the final decision of how our year will go, it will be sealed. Then we celebrate finishing the Torah in its yearly cycle, before we start fresh from how everything was created.  There is so much sadness happening in the world, but we are commanded to be happy and celebrated during Sukkot holiday, and it makes complete sense to me.

I have taken my kids to every Sukkot celebration, they have missed school, this is who they are, I want them to feel the positive energy all around them.  Even though we live in a challenging world, we can choose to be our best, we can choose to celebrate life, we can choose to find happiness everywhere we go.
